If you don’t like that workflow then check out Resolve. Just get started making your stuff there. I think though, you’ve already got iMovie and it’s pretty solid for what it is. Software is just a tool, you need to make the decisions. But really, only if you’re not able to create the things you want. I would suggest taking a solid look at FCPX or Premiere Pro though. I love Avid, but it’s probably going to be a hassle for you to use as a new learner. Avid Media Composer, Final Cut X, and Adobe Premiere Pro. Approximately what percent of the Apple computers can be used for. If you want to venture into Paid software, there’s only 3 you should really consider. Seven of the apple computers out of thirty have specialized movie editing software. It’s an excellent tool that is one of the industry standard color grading tools, that also happens to have a fairly decent editing portion of of the software as well. They split it into a free and paid version. If that’s not your bag, check out DaVinci Resolve. It’s a great little application that many people overlook. iMovie is free and will most likely handle everything you need.
